Cathay Pacific carried 1.8834 million passengers in March, an increase of 42.4% year-on-year

According to the news from the Wise Finance app, Cathay Pacific (00293) released its passenger and cargo volume data for March 2024. Benefiting from the Easter holiday and multiple exhibition events held consecutively, the demand for passenger travel to and from Hong Kong remained strong throughout the month.

In March 2024, Cathay Pacific carried 1.8834 million passengers, an increase of 42.4% compared to the same month in 2023. Revenue passenger kilometers for the month increased by 38.1% year-on-year. The passenger load factor decreased by 6.6 percentage points to 83.8%, while available seat kilometers increased by 48.9% year-on-year. In the first three months of 2024, the number of passengers carried increased by 55.7% to 5.4018 million compared to the same period last year, available seat kilometers rose by 56.4%, and revenue passenger kilometers increased by 47.7%.

In March 2024, Cathay Pacific transported 134,600 metric tons of cargo, an increase of 10.5% compared to the same month last year. Revenue freight ton kilometers for the month increased by 4.1% year-on-year, the cargo load factor decreased by 4.3 percentage points to 62.7%, while available cargo ton kilometers increased by 11.2% year-on-year. In the first three months of 2024, the cargo volume increased by 11.1% to 356,400 metric tons compared to the same period last year, available cargo ton kilometers increased by 15.2%, and revenue freight ton kilometers increased by 6.2%
