Ceridian: Q1 Earnings Snapshot MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Ceridian HCM Holding Inc. (CDAY) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of $19.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Minneapolis-based company said it had a loss of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 9 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 9 cents per share.

The provider of human-resources software and services posted revenue of $234.5 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $222.6 million.

For the current quarter ending in July, Ceridian said it expects revenue in the range of $236 million to $240 million.

Ceridian shares have declined 16% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $89.10, an increase of 48% in the last 12 months.
